Sin Barreras – Without Barriers is a grassroots organization that work to support, educate and empower the immigrant community, regardless of status, focusing on the Hispanic population of Charlottesville and surrounding areas. We are looking for talented, caring and resourceful individuals to join the team and help us accomplish our goals.
We are a small, but growing organization working in a space with enormous need. We are looking for candidates who are dedicated to our mission and willing to grow with us. Compensation is offered, however, we believe these opportunities are best fit for candidates who are also looking to gain valuable hands-on non-profit experience at the grassroots level. Part-time position tasked with managing requests and communication with clients, agencies and community organizations in English and Spanish. A highly organized person with the ability to create order will do best and allow for projects beyond the primary role.
Part-time position tasked with helping create a fundraising plan appropriate to the organization’s current stage using technology and other resources with a goal of reaching sustainability.
Part-time position for a self-starter to assume leadership of community workshops on improved financial literacy, community health, mental health and improved racial equity.
Part-time position for a self-starter to assume leadership of a symposium in English and another in Spanish on the history of migration in the US since the 1950’s, the current legal structure of immigration, the overall condition of the Hispanic immigrant population, and its contributions to U.S. society in economic and cultural areas.
